About Me
I grew up in communist Poland as a part of baby boomers' generation. It was my parents, my sister, my best friend Ania (who lived next door) and my turtle Mac. I remember my dad teaching me how to take pictures and then develop them in our dark room, playing with Ania all days long, going to parks with my mom, following everything my older sister did (driving her crazy) and welcoming Mac in spring with fresh lettuce when he was waking up from his winter sleep. The Beatles were singing "She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah" and thanks to my parents, life was good in a not-good reality. A lot changed since then but some things stayed the same. Photography has always been my passion, Ania is still my best friend (although now across the ocean), I still listen to my sister's advice when I need it, I love animals but now I have two Chihuahuas instead of a turtle (I see turtles bathing in the sun from my window) and I think about my parents every day. But life goes on, "times are changing", I left Poland over 30 years ago, traveled a lot and now live on Hilton Head Island for the past ten years with my husband, my daughter and dogs and the Island is our home.   
My life's motto is : you are never too young or too old to chase your dreams. So when things come up and I really want something I just go for it. I have had the idea about sharing my passion and knowledge about Hilton Head for a while, thought about the Website but for some time did not know how to proceed with it. Finally my husband Jan (who by the way knows programming but is busy enough with our business website www.islandphotoplace.com and the new one he is currently working on www.cameratoprint.com) found a perfect program for me to join - "Site build it" where you are given all the instructions, tools and guidelines to build your website without knowing html. So...my window opened up and I started to learn and build. My daughter (now 18) asked me "how did we live without internet?". Well...that's a good question. Life without google, windows, access to information. It was different and when I think of it sometimes, I am proud of my generation. We had to learn all of it as adults and we did. Most of us did. My website will take a few months to build, I enjoy working on it and I hope that it will help you to discover Hilton Head Island, come visit and have a time of your life.
