Hilton Head Restaurants offer a full variety of fine dining. Some specialize in certain cuisines but many offer a good variety of menus. I strongly suggest to visit at least a few while visiting Hilton Head.

There are many of them but be picky! You are staying on the Island for a limited amount of time and perhaps you don't even feel like going out every night. Choose a restaurant that is unique for the Island, read their menus online (if possible) before making your reservations so in the end of the evening you will happy with your dining experience.

The easiest way to "group" the restaurants is by the kind of food they serve. Some of them will have a nice variety.

Let's start with Sea Food but keep in mind that most of those restaurants will serve more than seafood.

Italian Restaurants-don't think that you only have to enjoy sea food while visiting Hilton Head!

Italian cuisine is much more than pasta mixed with meatballs and marinara sauce. There is a lot of tradition behind it. A knowledgeable chef can make miracles with the ingredients that we all know but don't know how to use in the right proportions and variety. A high quality Italian Restaurant will serve you not only food, it will serve you a taste of Italy!

Mexican Restaurants-why not if it's good?!

Mexican Cuisine is all about corn, beans and rice. Corn is used to make masa, a dough for tortillas, tamales etc...

Chinese Restaurants. Some people (like my daughter) cannot live without Chinese. What can I say?

Have you ever noticed that in Chinese cuisine most dishes are prepared in bite size form? In traditional Chinese culture chopsticks are used at the table instead of forks and knives.

Japanese Restaurants. My daughter can easily live without them but for me it is just so nice to have something different once in a while.

Japanese cuisine is known for its emphasis on seasonality of food, quality of ingredients and presentation. Rice has been the most important ingredient for over 2000 years.
