Hilton Head is a pet friendly Island. Many permanent residents have dogs (and/or cats) and many visitors bring their four legged friends with them so they can enjoy the beach too.

Some Hilton Head Hotels allow dogs (usually with restrictions to size).
The Pet Friendly are:
Holiday Inn (pets allowed after Labor Day until February 28th)
The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa (under 20 pounds, fee required)
Comfort Inn South Forest Beach (fees required)
Beachwalk Hotel and Condominiums (75 pounds weight limit, fees)
Hilton Oceanfront Resort. (fee required)
Red Roof Inn
Quality Inn and Suites (fees required)
If you want to rent a villa or a house, the pet policy will depend on the individual owners of those facilities. If there is a particular place that you would like to rent, but does not allow pets, you can board your dog at Evergreen Pet Lodge. This family-owned doggie hotel, very pet friendly, will allow you to visit and take your dog out as much as you want to during the hours of operation.
Some Hilton Head Restaurants are dog friendly so when you go out to eat and have your Max or Molly with you, you can consider places where they can accompany you.
Here are some pet friendly Restaurants:
Capt.Woodys in Palmetto Bay Marina
Palmetto Bay Sunrise Cafe in Palmetto Bay Marina
Crazy Crab only in Jarvis Creek
Bistro 17 at Shelter Cove Marina
Hinchey's Chicago Bar and Grill at Coligny
Skiletts Cafe at Coligny - special menu for dogs. Dogs and owners have to eat outside.
This little village is dog friendly (of course!), look for the salty Dog, Jake the Third. He shows up for special events.
Of course one of the best entertainment for dogs (big and small) is the beach. We take our dogs for beach walks often. Our Chihuahuas don't like water (so it is easier for us!), my daughter's dogs LOVE water (which gets messy!) - oh but so worth it for their fun!
Beaches and Parks on Hilton Head have some restrictions for dogs.
Animals are not permitted on the beach between 10AM and 5PM Friday before Memorial Day through Labor day. Anotherwords during the season take your dog to the beach before 10AM or in the afternoon, after 5PM. Leashes are required most of the time.
Seems like these two are having fun!
Animal lovers, you may want to stop by at Tail Waggers at Coligny Shopping Center. It is an interesting store to go to and you can take Fido with you. They sell unique stuff for dogs and cats (and the owners), including quality food for dogs.
If you would like your dog to socialize with other dogs we have just the place. Chaplin Community Park offers a dog park, with separate sections for bigger dogs and smaller doggies. Those areas are all fenced in so you can let go of the leash and let them play.
